Alassio is home to one of Italy’s historic tennis clubs.

The Hanbury Tennis Club Alassio, founded in 1923, features seven clay courts set within a 12,000 m2 historic park. International-level tournaments and events are regularly held here.

Set within a green belt of ancient olive groves and pine forests, it lies in the Lerrone Valley, one of the most charming and picturesque areas of the Ligurian hinterland. The 18-hole course, opened in 1965, was designed by architects Morrison and Harris and blends harmoniously into the landscape without altering its natural features.
From a technical standpoint, the course extends over 6,085 meters with a par of 72. From the championship tees, it offers a challenging test for more experienced players, while from the standard tees it provides an enjoyable round for golfers with higher handicaps. The view from the highest holes is truly spectacular: your gaze stretches from the sea all the way to the Maritime Alps.

Gallinara Island is a small island visible from Alassio, which has become a Regional Nature Park thanks to its rare Mediterranean vegetation and unspoilt environment. It can be visited by joining sea excursions from spring to autumn; boats depart from Porto Ferrari in Alassio, located directly opposite the island—one of the most fascinating areas for diving. At the diving centers in Alassio’s port, it is possible to book both individual and group dives.
