The Grand Hotel is one of the symbols of Alassio tourism<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It was built in the 19th century, when the town became a favourite destination for English tourists, attracted by the Mediterranean climate, the abundance of greenery, the beautiful beaches and the picturesque views. The hotel was one of the most prestigious of its time: following the example of the palaces on the C\u00f4te d’Azur, it was built facing the beach in a dazzling neoclassical style. It immediately became the favourite residence of the wealthiest and most refined tourists holidaying on the Riviera di Ponente. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Among the crowned heads is Duchess Maria Victoria, who stayed here in 1871 on her way to join her husband, the Prince of Savoy, for his election to the royal throne. And then: the King and Queen of Saxony, the Princess of Saxe-Weimar, the Prince of Battenberg, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster, the Duke of Aosta, Princess Laetitia, the Marchioness Visconti-Venosta, the Marchioness of Villamarina, Princess Demidoff. One of the Grand Hotel Alassio’s most recent royal guests, Arab Princess Nouf Nint Abdullah al Saud, did not go unnoticed by the press: having arrived, to spend 3 weeks’ holiday in July 2016, accompanied by family members, 30 servants and around 45 trunks, in a procession of cars and minivans with tinted windows. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

The hotel has also known a long period of decline, of about 40 years, in the 2000 it experienced a great rebirth.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The current owners have invested considerable resources to make this prestigious historical structure shine again. Ten years of work were needed to return the Grand Hotel to its former glory. In 2010, once the restyling had been completed, the ribbon was cut for the hotel to reopen its doors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fil rouge with the elegant belle \u00e9poque holiday atmosphere was maintained, within a skilful reinterpretation oriented towards contemporary d\u00e9cor, in line with the interior design trend of Europe’s most prestigious five-star hotels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
